SALARY SCALE: $ 1,900,694.77 - $ 2,283,572.25
JOB SUMMARY:
This position co-ordinates the implementation of approved projects and carries out daily inspections and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing fixtures, roofs, walls, and gutters, to ensure the general upkeep of buildings and infrastructure and preserve the value and integrity of the properties. All work is subject to inspection for conformance with specifications and accepted standards of the trade.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Certificate in General Building Maintenance from a vocational school/community college equivalent to HEART/VDTI Level III PLUS
- Basic carpentry and masonry
- Minimum three (3) years’ continuous working experience in general building maintenance
- Team Jamaica training is an asset
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect the facilities daily and assess electrical, mechanical, and plumbing fixtures.
- Ensure that reported problems are added to the Maintenance Task list
- Coordinate and arrange for stock taking of materials and maintain inventory on materials which are commonly utilized by the Free Zone.
- Coordinate landscaping, cleaning of the compound and maintenance service contracts, ensuring work orders generated by the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor are carried out.
- Closely monitor the works carried out by contractors to ensure that works/service is provided in accordance with the contract, i.e., agreements or purchase orders.
- Monitor the adequacy of building infrastructure of the facility and report deficiencies to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.
- Work with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the preparation of space for new clients of business entities.
- Prepare weekly property maintenance task report and submit to Facilities Supervisor.
- Maintain washrooms in offices, canteen, and all managed spaces.
- Ensure the proper cleaning of drains to prevent flooding of buildings and roadways.
- Ensure that safety standards are adhered to and report breaches to the Facility Manager.
- Perform daily checks on the sewerage lift station.
- Prepare updates on ongoing maintenance projects and clients requests.
