The individual will be responsible at the operationally for the Security & Safety of staff, customers and visitors at all Unicomer locations across Jamaica.

1. Job Summary The individual will be responsible at the operationally for the Security & Safety of staff, customers and visitors at all Unicomer locations across Jamaica. The individual will assist with developing new and modifying existing policies for Security & Safety enhancement ensuring strict compliance.

2. Reporting Relationships Reports to:

Direct Reporting - Loss Prevention Manager Indirect Reporting - N/A Supervises Directly - Contracted Security & Safety Providers Supervises Indirectly - N/A

3. Key Deliverables

• Assisting the Loss Prevention Manager in ensuring that all Unicomer locations are in compliance with company’s Loss Prevention Minimum Standards. • Conducting investigations into all Security & or Safety issues as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager. • Preparing case files relating to Security & Safety breaches for review and adjudication • Conducting Security & Safety Audits of all existing and proposed locations. • Ensuring supplier invoices are received, validated and submitted for payment • Gathering intelligence on all Security & /Safety issues for submission to the Loss Prevention Manager. • Assisting with updating and executing the company’s Business Continuity Plan • Attending Court and giving evidence on the company’s behalf in criminal & or civil proceedings. • Managing & Maintaining inventory for Product Security & Safety devices • Coordinating the testing, enhancing and modifications to new and existing security systems at all Unicomer Locations. • Supervising contracted security & safety providers • Assisting in ensuring that all emergency preparedness plans/measures are actively maintained and tested at all Unicomer locations directed by the Loss Prevention Manager.

4. Quality Improvement Projects

Full participation in all initiatives of the company as assigned.

Externally with: Unicomer customers and visitors JCF High Command, JDF High Command, Security & Safety Providers ODPEM, Jamaica Fire Brigade, St. Johns Ambulance, Jamaican Chapter of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) Jamaica Red Cross, Private Security Regulating Authority (PSRA) Ministries & Government Agencies

6. Job Competencies (Minimum) Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• First Degree in Security Management or Business Administration or other related discipline.
• Certified in First –Aid and Occupational Health and Safety
• Certified Investigator and Train the trainer would be an asset
• Solid investigative skills
• Solution Oriented
• Excellent at Risk Assessment, Disaster Mitigation and Contingency Planning • Exceptional at Statement Recording and Report Writing
• Five (5) years working experience in a supervisory role in a Security Environment
• Working knowledge of Electronic Access Control, Burglar & Fire Alarms, Fire Fighting & PPEs, and CCTV Systems • Working knowledge of Business Continuity Planning and Execution
• Working knowledge of the following laws and regulations of Jamaica: Larceny Act, Forgery Act, Cybercrimes Act, Factories Act and any other law applicable to Security and Safety
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate orally and in writing with individuals at all levels

7. Degree of Authority

The degree of authority applicable to this position is as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager, Unicomer Jamaica in keeping the within the standards of the Unicomer Group

9. Special Conditions Associated with the role

• The job is based on a minimum forty-hour workweek, Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm however, due to the nature of the job you may be required to work beyond the stipulated times and on call. • Required t to perform under stressful conditions associated with driving • Possible to travel to and or through volatile areas. • Standing and walking for extended periods of time. • Occasional exposure to odors and adverse environmental conditions. • Exposure to dust, inclement weather and possibly dangerous people.
