We are seeking a Logistics Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the logistics processes within the Shipping & Export Department.

OUR NEED

We are seeking a Logistics Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the logistics processes within the Shipping & Export Department. The Logistics Supervisor will also provide guidance to the team leaders and ensure that all customer service is met in accordance with our established standards.

 

KEY DUTIES

Included among the responsibilities of the role are: -

  • Supervise the logistics team including documentation and clearing personnel.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to improve team skills and ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and achievement of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Assist with Scheduling work shifts, monitor performance, and resolve any staffing or operational issues.
  • Plan and coordinate the pickup and transportation of goods, ensuring timely delivery to forwarder/carriers and ultimate customer.
  • Negotiate with third-party carriers and logistics providers to secure the most cost-effective shipping rates and services.
  • Monitor the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of transportation methods and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Process customs entries when required to support department KPIs by ensuring the compliance with all documentation requirements for customs, freight forwarding, and import/export regulations.
  • Ensure all applications for Export Approvals, Suspensions and Licences are made in a timely manner and identify opportunities to streamline logistics processes, reduce costs, and improve delivery times.
  • Track and analyse logistics performance metrics, providing timely reports to Logistics Manager for issue resolutions.
  • Prepare reports on logistics performance, cost analysis, and any issues that arise for senior management review.

 

DESIRED BACKGROUND/SKILLS

The incumbent should possess:

  • Degree in Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience and at least two (2) years with Customs experience.
  • Knowledge of ACE, ASYCUDA World, TTBIZLINK, NAVIS.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to follow established procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Well organized and able to meet deadlines.
