Log Analyst Trainee

The Log Analyst Trainee is required to assist and contribute to the activities that will be centred but not limited to the analysis of Formation Evaluation and Cased Hole Wireline Data.

JOB SUMMARY

The Log Analyst Trainee is required to assist and contribute to the activities that will be centred but not limited to the analysis of Formation Evaluation and Cased Hole Wireline Data. He/she is responsible for providing efficient reports and analysis summaries, data gathering and data analysing. Maintaining open communication with clients during and after operations.

EDUCATION

• BSc. In Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years analytical/interpretative skills and expertise in production logging, well integrity, wireline simulation, well intervention design, planning and operations.
• 2 years’ experience in cased hole log interpretation and analysis (Formation Evaluation, multi caliper and production logs) preferred
• 2 years’ experience well logging data processing preferred.

Any other suitable combination of education and / or experience may be considered.

FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

a)      Computer processing of well logging data using PLATO, Powerlog, MAPVIEW, WIPER, WIVA.

b)     Quick look interpretation within 24 hours of receiving the data.

c)      Quality Control of the final product.

d)     Detail reports within 7 days of receiving the data.

e)     Preparation and presentation of the reports to the client.

f)       Archiving of the data.

g)      Presentations to Internal and External personnel, as required (including but not limited to Clients).

h)     Performs any other related duties required by management to ensure the successful completion and/or running of TES operations.
