Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Local Indo Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and passion for Indo cuisine, with a demonstrated track record in a high-quality restaurant setting. This role requires an individual who is creative, committed to excellence, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation & Cooking - Prepare and cook a variety of Indo dishes with a focus on authenticity, presentation, and flavor.
  • Menu Development -  Assist in creating and updating the menu with new, exciting dishes while maintaining the traditional flavors and techniques of Indo cuisine.
  • Quality Control -  Ensure the highest standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness are met in accordance with health regulations.
  • Team Leadership -  Oversee kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and motivation to ensure smooth operations.
  • Inventory Management - Maintain inventory of ingredients, ordering supplies as necessary to meet demand without excessive wastage.
  • Customer Service - Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for customers.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Nationality - Must be of Indo heritage or background.
  • Age - Between 30 to 45 years old.
  • Residency - Must be a resident of Jamaica.
  • Experience - At least 5 years of verifiable experience in an Indo cuisine restaurant, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Culinary Skills - Expert knowledge of Indo culinary traditions, techniques, and ingredients.
  • Creativity - Ability to innovate and contribute to a dynamic, diverse menu while maintaining traditional recipes.
  • Health and Safety Compliance - Solid understanding of kitchen hygiene standards and food safety protocols.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
