We are seeking a Litigation Associate (0-5 years of experience) to join our growing litigation team.

 

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Litigation Associate (0-5 years of experience) to join our growing litigation team. This role is ideal for a newly admitted attorney or a legal professional with up to five years of experience looking to develop advocacy skills, deepen their research skills, and improve their approach to case management including drafting legal documents, whilst gaining exposure to a broad range of legal disputes. The Firm has a cross border practice throughout the Eastern Caribbean with offices in multiple islands and looking to hire an associate in either our Saint Kitts & Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda or Saint Lucia office.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle all aspects of litigation, from case initiation to trial and appeal.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex legal issues.
  • Assist in disclosure, document review, preparation of witness statements
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Manage client relationships, including regular communication and providing timely updates on matter progress.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop strategic legal advice and litigation plans.
  • Stay updated on relevant case law, statutes, and legal procedure.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legal Education Certificate (or expected completion this year).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in litigation through internships, judicial review asssistance, or moot court participation.
  • Familiarity with e-legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
