POSITION SUMMARY: The Lifeguard has a dynamic outgoing demeanor with a passion for delivering industry-leading service while demonstrating exemplary skills. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day processes of the lifeguard operation on the Destination. The Lifeguard works with the Lead Lifeguard to ensure the safety of Guests in the aquatic recreational facilities following all safety, first aid, and emergency response procedures. All duties and responsibilities are performed following Royal Caribbean International's Brand Standards, the Royal Way philosophy, Company policies, and SOPs, Public Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Guidelines. The nature of this job requires daily interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs rescue of Guests in danger of drowning and is alert to accidents. Administers first aid, CPR, Oxygen, and AED as needed by the training received.
• Adheres to policies and procedures as outlined by Standard Operating Procedures provided by the Management.
• Provides surveillance of swimmers and Guests during operations.
• Possesses a general knowledge of aquatic recreational facilities. Enforces water safety rules and regulations.
• Reports unsafe or unsanitary conditions and need for repairs to the Lead Lifeguard or Assistant Manager.
• Provides exceptional customer service to all Guests in a polite and friendly manner.
• Performs daily routine assignments and upkeep of aquatic recreational facilities on the Destination.
• Follows the schedule, rotation, and rescue ready. Stays on position until released by a Lead Lifeguard.
• Monitors water activity and ensures no Guests travel beyond the designated buoy lines.
• Prepares the Destination for a ship call day, ensures rescue equipment, rescue kayak, and other equipment are inspected and in full safety compliance before Guests are come ashore.
• Follows opening and closing procedures outlined by the department

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training.
• Minimum one (1) years of experience as a Lifeguard or ability to obtain Lifeguard certification.
• Ability to work in an international team in a positive way. Effective verbal communications skills.
