Lending Officer - ANSA Bank Limited

The Lending Officer is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of lending activities within the assigned branch of ANSA Bank Limited, from identifying and acquiring new customers to ensuring successful loan origination, credit underwriting, and servicing.

Job Summary: The Lending Officer is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of lending activities within the assigned branch of ANSA Bank Limited, from identifying and acquiring new customers to ensuring successful loan origination, credit underwriting, and servicing. The role requires the achievement of individual and branch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that contribute to overall business growth, while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction, risk management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Loan Origination & Underwriting:
• Review and assess loan applications for completeness, creditworthiness, and compliance with lending policies.
• Make loan recommendations based on thorough analysis of credit reports, financial statements, and client needs.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of loan applications to meet branch and organizational targets.
• Communicate effectively with applicants, ensuring all required documents are submitted for loan approval.
2. Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management:
• Actively prospect and acquire new business through referrals, networking, and outreach.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers to promote loyalty and repeat business.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities for additional financial products or services to maximize revenue.
3. Target Achievement & KPIs:
• Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual loan origination targets.
• Ensure branch performance metrics such as loan portfolio growth, approval rates, delinquency ratios, and customer retention are consistently met.
• Track and report personal progress against KPIs to management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
4. Risk Management & Compliance:
• Adhere to all internal controls, regulatory requirements, and lending policies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
• Assist in managing delinquency rates and collections for assigned loans.
• Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and lending guidelines to ensure adherence to best practices.
5. Branch Performance:
• Contribute to achieving overall branch performance objectives, including customer satisfaction, loan book growth, and profitability.
• Collaborate with branch teams to promote a culture of high performance and customer-centric service.
• Work with the Branch Manager to align individual goals with branch-wide initiatives.
6. Reporting & Administration:
• Maintain accurate records of loan transactions and customer interactions.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on loan activity, pipeline status, and performance metrics.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to loan documentation and regulatory filings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in lending, banking, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of lending products, underwriting procedures credit.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite; familiarity with lending software is a plus.
• Sound knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
