Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Infrastructure & Technical Services team in the capacity of:

 

Lead Systems & Network Administrator

 

Have responsibility for managing a team of Systems and Network Administrators, Application Engineers as well as Data Storage Administrators.

Have responsibility for installing, managing, and maintaining windows-based systems and related applications within Sagicor Group Jamaica.

Manage data security, firewall and network configuration and user access.

Location: Kingston

 

As a Lead Systems & Network Administrator, you will:

 

  • Deploy, install, and configure hardware such as firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, IPS, network monitoring systems and other network security related products.
  • Install or upgrade Windows systems and servers:
  • Provide technical support for the team and back-end system users.
  • Monitor system performance:
    • Review system error logs and user reported errors.
  • Create or modify user access as requested through the service desk or requested by the Projects team.
  • Develop and maintain documented backup, restoration and disaster recovery procedures for all network infrastructure and conduct routine disaster recovery exercises on a regular basis.
  • Create or Configure domain accounts for new hires:
    • Enforce mailbox size limits to prevent blockage and avoid hitting the maximum storage quota.
    • Develop policy settings for different departments.
  • Configure exchange servers:
    • Manage mailboxes, user accounts and public folders.
    • Configure Exchange security and anti-spam measures.
    • Monitor the performance of the exchange environment and troubleshoot any problems that may arise.
  • Research and recommend new approaches to improve the networked computer system.
  • Assist in the planning and budgeting process of the department, as required.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance in daily activities by strictly adhering to data privacy regulations/ acts and relevant cybersecurity policies, defined standards, guidelines, and procedures to avoid non-compliance and associated risks
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

 

 

What do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ working experience supporting network workstations, AVAYA desk phones and PC applications, including experience with wide area networks, windows administration, Checkpoint Firewall administration, Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SharePoint Online.
  • Microsoft MCSE, CCNA certification or similar would be an asset.
  • At least two (2) years working experience in administering server-side technology and networked computing systems would be asset.
  • Advanced knowledge in the following areas: WAN, LAN, Switching, IP addressing, Routing Protocols, Firewalls, IPSec VPN tunnels and network/ data security.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications such as O365, Azure, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and Projects Online.
  • Sound knowledge of Windows-based systems such as DNS, DHCP and File Shares.
  • Sound knowledge of Hypervisors such as VMWare and Citrix.
  • Sound knowledge of SANs, NAS and DAS.
  • Sound knowledge with Fortinet FortiGate, FortiAP, Forti Manager & FortiAnalyzer.
  • Sound knowledge of the process for the installation, configuration and maintenance of network routers, switches (CISCO), firewall (Fortinet, Checkpoint) and devices.
  • Working knowledge of PBX such as AVAYA and CISCO.
  • Understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols.
  • Ability to research and analyze system performance challenges and recommend solutions.
  • Experience with CISCO ISE.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools such as SolarWinds.
  • Familiarity with financial sector instruments, laws, regulations, ethics and professional jargon.
  • Ability to effectively assess, prioritize and execute tasks in a customer-centric environment.
  • Strong management skills.
  • Sound human relations and client service skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
