The Laundry Supervisor is a hands-on position that involves overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure that the company meets its productivity targets while promoting and maintaining high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.

Summary:

The Laundry Supervisor is a hands-on position that includes working with the Assistant Manager and Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Laundry and Dry Cleaning Plant to ensure that the company meets its productivity targets while promoting and maintaining high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure enforcement of proper laundry procedures, including sorting, washing, drying, folding and pressing to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Monitor staff quality and productivity to ensure that departmental goals are met and support plans to promote new and repeat business.
  • Ensure that the turn-around time for product delivery is achieved to ensure that customers receive service that exceed their expectations
  • Perform daily quality control inspections of completed items prior to customer delivery
  • Respond appropriately to customer enquiries and providing feedback.
  • Resolve conflicts in handling customer queries to ensure customers receive a high standard of service and preparing the requisite documentation for submission to management.
  • Respond appropriately to equipment breakdowns
  • Perform regular visual inspection of all equipment and initiate preventative and corrective maintenance procedures Inform Managing Director of equipment and production problems in a timely manner
  • Hands-on and Ensures all installations/repairs are executed with minimal or no disruption to operations
  • Identify needs that may require external suppliers/contractors and oversee all work done by external suppliers/contractors
  • Maintain excellent relationships across various departments, building trust and a reputation for exceptional integrity and professionalism
  • Engage in staff training, discipline and motivating, and assigning duties.
  • Maintain good employee relations and conduct monthly line meetings to address questions and concerns.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on laundry productivity, inventory levels, maintenance, sales and expenses to submit to Management.
  • Report and or escalate productivity, quality and or equipment related matters to management in a timely manner if resolution to an issue has not been achieved.
  • Maintain clean workspace and adherence to company’s document retention policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and manage the security of the facilities and grounds including safety related operations activities.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management.

 

General Qualification Requirements:

  • Computer Literate and Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • At least 3 years demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as required by the business demands.
  • Must be able to perform the following minimum physical behaviours periods: standing, walking, lifting, stretching, squatting and performing physical labour as required by the business demands.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication and the ability to cope well in a high paced and stress-related environment.
  • Possess strong leadership skills, must be able to motivate and coach team, with a strong sense of integrity.
  • Ability to display a high level of integrity by keeping good on promises; holding self-accountable; and being honest and truthful.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong reporting, analytic and problem solving skills.
  • Responsible and trustworthy.

 

Remuneration - TT$4,500 plus $500 incentive.
