Landscapes Supervisor

The Landscapes Supervisor provides day-to-day support and feedback to the Landscaping Management team. The person filling this role will oversee and coordinate the landscaping team and all landscaping activities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Landscaping Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Landscaping Manager/Assistant Landscaping Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Provides day-to-day support and feedback to the Landscaping Management. Oversee and coordinate the landscaping team and of all landscaping activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the supervision of staff
• Assist in staff development and training
• Oversee the planting and nurturing of shrubbery, flower beds, plants and trees using proven landscape methods and techniques
• Assist with work plans, schedules, oversee regular landscape maintenance and project duties such as mowing, trimming, edging and weed control and installation of new garden beds
• Oversee installation of landscaping materials, laying of sods, planting of trees and shrubs.
• Schedule and perform more highly skilled horticultural procedures such as pruning, pesticide application planning, and regular fertilization
• Develop and execute a disease control and prevention program
• Assist in ensuring the property is irrigated according to plant specifications and soil conditions
• Assist with inventory and asset management
• Provide weekly and monthly reports to Assistant Manager, Manager and GM as required
• Ensure proper storage of all landscaping assets
• Assist with staff relations.
• Ensure that all staff are assigned the requisite PPE, are trained in how to use it and are actually using PPE consistently and correctly
• Track, log and report all safety breeches in order to maintain safe and effective work practices
• Represent the Manager at Management meetings as required
• Schedule / roster staff in collaboration with the Manager and Assistant Manager
• Effectively track employee leave
• Any other related or ancillary duty as requested by Management

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 30lbs
• Ability to work in the elements for extended periods of time
• Effective Leadership skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays
