Laboratory Analyst

Provides the production operations with analytical information for decision making so as to ensure that products of the highest quality are produced and material losses are kept within the standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct analyses on incoming material, in-process material, process by-products, finished goods and water samples using laboratory equipment, both classical and electronic.
  2. Ensure the analysis of crude oils and fats in storage weekly.
  3. Ensure accurate receipt and logging of all samples brought to the laboratory.
  4. Prepare laboratory reagents and standardization of solutions needed for analysis and ensure the use only of approved AOCS or other approved procedures provided by the company.
  5. Prepare accurate and timely reporting of test results paying attention to the requirements of the continuous processes which requires speedy r

  11. Assist the Quality Control Officer with data analyses to make necessary recommendation to the Production Department.
  12. Conduct and record verification activities prior to analysis as appropriately needed to demonstrate the credibility of equipment and analytical results (internal controls)
  13. Carry out minor trouble-shooting and calibrations as needed on laboratory equipment.
  14. Ensure proper usage and maintenance of tools and equipment for optimal functionality.
  15. Participate in Food Safety activities as required.
  16. Perform any other related duties assigned.

 

Academic/Technical/Management: Experience and Qualifications:

  1. BSc. Degree in Applied Chemistry (preferred) or Related Chemistry Bsc. Degree
  2. Minimum One (1) year related working experience preferably in a laboratory.

  1. Computer Literacy
  2. Good communication skills

  2. Ability work efficiently and responsibly with minimum supervision
