LIBRARIAN

The Jamaica Stock Exchange, is seeking to identify a suitable candidate to fill the position of LIBRARIAN – JSE’s e-Campus

Reporting to the Principal e-Campus, the successful candidate will provide virtual library services to support the academic and research needs of online students and faculty, including managing digital resources, conducting online information literacy instruction, and ensuring equitable access to library services in a virtual environment.

Responsibilities for the Librarian include (but not limited to):

• Digital Collection Development: Select, acquire, and maintain digital library resources, ensuring alignment with online curricula and research needs.
• Online Information Literacy Instruction: Design and deliver virtual workshops and instructional sessions to enhance students’ research skills and information literacy in an online format.
• Virtual Reference Services: Provide research assistance and support to online students and faculty through chat, email, and video conferencing.
• Resource Management: Manage and promote access to electronic databases, e-books, and other digital resources, ensuring user-friendly navigation and accessibility.
• User Engagement: Develop and implement outreach initiatives tailored to online learners, including virtual events and social media engagement.
• Research Support: Assist faculty and students with online research projects, data management, and citation tools in a digital environment.
• Collaboration: Work with faculty and instructional designers to integrate library resources into online courses and programs.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of digital library services, research methods, and online learning technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Experience in virtual instruction.
• Familiarity with library management systems and online resource platforms.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Experience in an academic library, particularly in an online or remote capacity and familiarity with online learning management systems (LMS) and digital content creation would be an asset.
