LEGAL OFFICER
The Insurance Company of the West Indies (Trinidad) Limited invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Legal Officer at our Port-of-Spain Branch.
The ideal candidate will be a practising Attorney-at-Law with a minimum of Three (3) years’ experience with:
• Strong advocacy/litigation skills
• Litigation experience in the Magistrate and High Court
• Sound working knowledge of the Court procedures, Civil Procedure Rules, Case Management Conference, Pretrial Review and Trial Preparation
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent negotiation, mediation, interpersonal and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago including laws relevant to the insurance industry
• Knowledge of economic and social trends pertinent to insurance claims
• Computer skills (that is, competence in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software programmes)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
• Good analytical, problem solving and information gathering skills
