The post is accountable for ensuring compliance with all legislation administered by the Department, assisting with the execution of the compliance regime for Non-Profit Organizations (NPO), and for management of the charities registration system. This includes providing advice on issues arising out of or related to charity registrations and risk assessment of the local NPO sector to uphold Bermuda Government commitments made according to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the Caribbean FATF (CFATF). The post will also provide training to staff in respect of legal administration processes and perform advisory and liaison duties on behalf of the Registrar General on all legal matters relating to the Department.

The post has autonomy in the planning and execution of legal research and analysis in relation to the legislative and policy initiatives and objectives of the Department and for management of the charities registration system. The post has authority to formulate the training processes and procedures in respect of new or amended legislative services provided by the Department including the introduction of compliance audit procedures and liaising with internal and external entities involved with the execution of legislative requirements.

Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience and possess a Bachelor of Law or equivalent field of study.
