LEGAL ASSISTANT
Law Firm seeking proficient, and efficient candidate to fill the post of Legal Assistant in Law Firm in the British Virgin Islands.
Legal Secretary to report to the Office Manager and work closely with colleagues in the Legal Team.
Responsibilities include providing legal secretarial assistance to lawyers for litigation and non-litigation matters; assisting with drafting and finalising legal documents; liaising with Lawyers on Court matters; assisting lawyers with the management of their client portfolio; communicating with and assisting clients in a professional manner, having proper time management and ensuring that deadlines are met; assisting with monthly time entries for lawyers and billings.
The ideal candidate must:
- have a High School Diploma
- have a good command of the English language
- have a minimum of 5 years legal secretarial experience
- have experience with assisting with Court matters
- be computer literate, have good typing skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft
Word and office equipment
- be pleasant, punctual, organised, responsible and able to function independently where necessary
- be able to work in a team environment
- be capable of offering all secretarial and other related assistance to lawyers
- have excellent matter management skills
- have good communication and good client handling skills
