Job Description:
Junior Accountant can expect to work with large amounts of numerical data, handle multiple tasks with deadlines, and provide transparent and complete reports to management.
To ensure success, our Junior Accountant should be prompt, honest detail-oriented, professional, and analytical. Top candidates will have excellent presentation skills with the ability to successfully communicate complex quantitative data to decision-makers.
What would be your role and responsibilities
Junior Accountant responsibilities include but are not limited by the ones described as follows.
Primary Responsibilities
- Complying with all company, local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.
- Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
- Presenting data to managers, investors, and other entities.
- Maintaining accurate financial records.
- Performing audits and resolving discrepancies.
- Computing taxes.
- Keeping informed about current legislation relating to finance and accounting.
- Assisting management in the decision-making process by preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting and ACCA certification
- Must have excellent English and solid oral and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office.
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledgeable in Jamaican Taxation laws and policies
- Must be able to work on site or remote if needed.
- Special licenses or certification may be required.
- Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
- Understanding of mathematics and accounting and financial processes.
- Previous experience as a Accountant, preferably within a company of a similar size.
- Capacity to keep track of numerous ongoing tasks.
- Adherence to all prescribed ethical guidelines, including confidentiality.
- Strong sense of integrity.
- Familiarity with payroll software or any platform, reporting analysis similarities. (SAP)
- Ability to deal with stress & work pressure in fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

- Knowledge on inventory and filing skills.
