The junior accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Job Description
Accumulate and generate accurate financial statements and presentations when required
Generate monthly accounts which include accounts payable, accounts receivables, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, variance accounts and any other financial statement/ report required by management, with 100% accuracy and within required timelines
Analyse financial information, recognize financial trends and make recommendations toward more efficient practices
Management of all accounting systems and records including, but not limited to: revenues, expenditures, fixed assets, depreciation, purchasing and inventory
Review and analyse all month end and year end accounting entries
Analyse sales and profitability and prepare detailed financial reports and statements to assist in the preparation of Management Discussions and Executive Discussion
Ensure Compliance with Statutory requirements
Generation of Value Added Tax, Green Fund Levy, Business Levy, Corporation Tax, reports for the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and International Credit Report Bureaus with 100% accuracy, within the designated timelines
Liaise with Financial institutions to ensure that all requires are met within a timely manner
Preparation of statements required for Annual Audits with 100% accuracy and within required timelines
Ensure that all debtor vendor and customer queries are dealt with and rectified with 100% accuracy within designated timelines
Liaise with internal departments, stores, audit and any other internal customer to ensure that all requirements are met
Any other duties as required by Management
Education
Professional Accounting Qualification or First Deagree in Accounting
ACCA Qualification will be an asset
Experience
Minimum 5 Years Accounting Experience
Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Strong Understanding of Government Taxation System and all associated deadlines
Skills and Attributes
Strong MS Office Skills (Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Competence with Accounting Software's
Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
