ASSISTANT LAND SURVEYOR

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of Assistant Land Surveyor for our Projects in Montego Bay.

Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in conducting surveys and performing calculations and measurements for the various construction projects.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct site surveys and give reports on the various work sites.
• Taking measurements on distances and angles to establish boundaries
• Prepare designs based on technical specifications.
• Use specialized equipment, including GPS and Geographic Information System devices, to measure boundaries and contours.
• Perform mathematical calculations to determine and confirm surveying measurements.
• Complete the elevation and coordinate calculations according to the drawings.
• Analyze data using plans, maps, charts, and software such as AutoCAD and GIS programs.
• Provide technical support for the construction team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geothechnical Engineering or other related discipline
• 1–2 years’ field experience
• Knowledge in the use of Total Station, leveling, and GPS surveying instruments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly responsive with strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work on weekends
• Ability to work in a fast-moving and culturally diverse environment
