Host / Hostess- Food and Beverage

The Host/ Hostess is responsible for welcoming and creating the first impression for guests. These individuals have the ability to influence the overall restaurant experience by their interactions that include providing table accommodations and offering menu recommendations.

The Host / Hostess is responsible for welcoming and creating the first impression for guests.  These individuals have the ability to influence the overall restaurant experience by their interactions that include providing table accommodations and offering menu recommendations. The Host / Hostess may be the final point of contact and have the ability to ensure guest satisfaction.  If you have worked as a restaurant host or hostess, your skills are invaluable to the position at Hyatt. 

Position Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

• Greet and escort customers to their tables
• Present menu and provide detailed information when asked
• Inform customers about the day’s specials and offer menu recommendations upon request
• Up-sell additional products when appropriate
• Assist in all Food and Beverage outlets (Waterfront, Lobby, IRD, Cinnamon, Pool Bar) as needed by operational demands.
• Complete various additional tasks and assignments as needed.

Hostess Requirements and Qualifications

• 3 CXC passes inclusive of Mathematics
• The ability to stand for long hours;
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a restaurant or cruise ship environment
• Flexibility to work shifts; including weekends, holidays and late nights
• The ability to multi-task;
• A committed team player;
• Good MS Office skills;
• Refined verbal communication skills
• Must be vaccinated against Covid-19
