Provides IT support to all stakeholders of Bishop Anstey Hih School East & Trinity College East and to ensure proper use and maintenance of IT Equipment and Resources across the Schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support
- Setups IT equipment for use by teachers and support departments as required
- Installs and deploys software in the labs as required.
- Provides training on software applications.
- Conducts research, requests, installs and provides training on new hardware and software resources.
- Conducts orientation and training on new hardware and software resources, peripheral devices and applications
- Performs basic and advanced troubleshooting/repairing exercises on all devices across schools.
- Performs diagnostics, maintenance and upgrades of computer related hardware including desktops, laptops, printers and other peripheral equipment
- Performs basic repairs to hardware components
- Assists teachers when required.
- Performs basic network troubleshooting, crimping cables, testing network ports etc.
- Configures desktops and laptop computers and ensures correct system operation and performance
Help-Desk Support
- Assists users with daily routines, queries and solutions via person, helpdesk, MS Teams and email.
- Receives and attends to Help-Desk requests received via telephone, e-mail, Teams etc, documenting issues and resolutions
- Monitors, daily the IT-Helpdesk E-mail and Tech Support Teams for support requests
- Provides support to Students and Staff on the usage of Office 365 and MS Teams
- Resets student and staff network passwords
IT Projects
- Assists in the routine maintenance of all hardware and software resources on a scheduled basis.
- Conducts imaging of computers and assessment and preparation of labs during the maintenance periods
- Provides secondary backup assistance to events in the auditorium when required
- Conducts research and liaise with vendors on quotations for IT purchases providing recommendations as required
- Populates and maintains Inventory.
- Maintains and updates IT Assets Inventory
- Develops application (SharePoint, Forms, and Sway) using Office 365
Reports and Documentation
- Documents and reports on hardware and software problems to the Network Administrator.
- Prepares and submits weekly ad hoc reports in approved formats and timeframes
- Assists in documenting procedures relative to job function as required
- Prepares and updates all relevant documentation and logs e.g. Inventory, installation logs, software summary logs etc.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 GCE/ CXC O' Level passes Mathematics and English Language inclusive.
- Certification in A+, Network +.
- Associate Degree in IT/MIS/Computer Studies or other related field
- Proficient in the use of MS 365 Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Teams
- Professional Certifications: MCSA, MCSE would be an asset.
- Knowledge of creating and deploying images to computer systems
- Working knowledge of Office 365, Teams and Sharepoint
- Knowledge of AutoCad Installation and Deployment
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity
