Our Client, Kanoo Pays Ltd, is seeking to fill the position of Junior Accountant.

Company Overview:

Kanoo Pays Ltd., an up-and-coming FinTech company based in Kingston, Jamaica, pioneers innovative financial solutions, driving unparalleled service and technology in the market. As part of our continued growth, we're looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to strengthen our finance team. 

Job Purpose:

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the finance team in day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with Jamaican regulations and the company's financial policies. 

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Data Management:

• Assists in the structure created in the recording, processing and analysis of financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate records of all company transactions, including invoices, expenses, and other financial documents.
• Manage payables and receivables.
• Track expenses, budget, taxes, cash flow, receipts, and other financial dealings of the company.
• Works with the Marketing and Sales team, and in conjunction with the General Manager, makes recommendations on pricing of Kanoo services and solutions.

Reconciliation:

• Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank and ledger accounts.
• Identify discrepancies in financial records and collaborate with the finance team to resolve them.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support the finance team in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Reconciles bank accounts and tracks fixed assets, investments and cash flow.

Compliance and Regulation:

• Stay abreast of local accounting regulations and ensure adherence to these standards.
• Assist in the preparation of tax documentation and other statutory reports Liaise with external auditors during financial audits.
• Provide information and documentation for internal and external auditors and flags activities and transactions that may indicate fraud and other improprieties.
• Keeps abreast of current and emerging accounting practices and principles.

• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support as requested by the senior finance team.
• Supports the procurement of goods and services, ensuring the company gets value for money.
• Manages petty cash.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as QuickBooks, SAP, Zoho Books etc.
