Reporting to the Manager, Human Resource and Administration.
Salary Range: $1,304,076.00 - $1,753,837.00
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resource and Administration the Driver/Messenger ensures that authorized officers are transported to and from locations in a professional, courteous and timely manner, that all Tourism Enhancement Fund’s documents are held in safe custody and are delivered to their respective destinations efficiently and to provide office services support.
CORE FUNCTIONS
- Perform daily routine checks on the vehicle to ensure optimum performance;
- Report as necessary, any concerns, issues involving the assigned vehicle;
- Manage the maintenance of the vehicle assigned in accordance with the agreed maintenance schedule;
- Report all daily activities/assignments to the Manager, Human Resource and Administration or other responsible officer, prior to their commencement;
- Transport staff to and from official duties as directed by Manager, Human Resource and Administration and in accordance with pre-determined schedule and in a professional manner;
- Conform to established methods of reporting accidents or other incidents involving the assigned vehicle;
- Log and prioritize on a daily basis, all mail received for delivery, prior to departure from Office;
- Plan all routes in advance to maximize on the use of fuel;
- Transport mail and other documents as requested, in a timely manner;
- Log all mail being returned to the Office at the end of each day, documenting the challenges, if any;
- Conduct removal, relocation and storage of office furniture and equipment as directed;
- Removes empty water receptacles and loads water dispensers;
- Provides assistance in disaster preparedness and mitigation activities, such securing office equipment and furniture, etc
- Assists in receiving and storing stationery and office supplies as directed by the Manager, Human Resources & Administration;
- Monitors facilities of the TEF offices, and reports defects to the Manager, Human Resources & Administration;
- Assists the Manager, Human Resources & Administration in identifying and correcting possible work hazards;
Other Responsibilities
• Assist in desk assignment, as directed by Supervisor
• Serve as reliever at the Front Desk, as the need arises;
• Execute any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education/Certification
- School leaving Certificate
- CXC English
- A valid General Driver’s License
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar capacity
- Certification from the National Works Agency
- Training and/or experience in auto repairs (would be an asset)
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- A valid general Drivers’ license
- Certification from the National Works Agency
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good customer service delivery skills
- Compliance with established procedures
- Confidentiality, good decorum and teamwork
