Accounting assistant

ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

 An administrative professional who works under the auspices of an accountant, an accounting assistant performs a myriad of tasks aimed at ensuring that a company accounting function operates efficiently and effectively.

 Duties:

  
 
  • Assist in the Preparation of Audit Schedules
  • Preparation of Fortnightly and monthly payroll
  • Creation and entry  of  General Journals
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register monthly.
  • Maintenance of Staff AR monthly
  • Preparation of Monthly Commission Reports
  • Creation and entry Monthly Financial Journals
  • Monthly General Journals for Accruals
  • Submission to the payable clerk reports of statutory deductions and other deduction to process cheques.
  • Reconciliation of Cashiers daily
  • Reconciliation of Debtor Sub ledger to the Accounts Receivable GL
  • Verification of all Bank Charges on bank statements to GL
  • Verification of all Deposit on bank statements to GL
  • Bank reconciliation monthly
  • Verification of all withdrawals on bank statements to GL
  • Verification of LINX / VISA on bank statements to GL
 

  Requirements 

Must have a minimum 5 O' Levels

Must be proficient in using Computer

Accounting Qualifications Pursuing ACCA ,FIA or other accounting qualifications.

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP and Micro pay will be an asset.
