Optical Dispenser

An established retail optical outlet is seeking a dynamic personality to join the team as an Optical Dispenser.

Principal Tasks / Responsibilities 

• Provide customers with a positive customer service experience.
• Assist customers with the selection and fitting of frames and advise them of their options in respect of their choice of lens.
• Fill prescriptions, sell, fit, and dispense glasses according to specifications.
• Maintaining contact with customers to advise them of the status of their order. 
• Carry out minor repairs and adjustments to glasses and advise customers on the care of their glasses.
• Check jobs returned by customers by assessing the problem and deciding on the corrective action to be taken.
• Collect funds, process payments and issue receipts.
• Check on customer’s health insurance eligibility and ensure the completion of insurance claim forms.
• Daily preparation and maintenance of the front office workstations, instruments and displays.
• Assist with stock checks.
• Perform Doctor’s receptionist duties as required.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite and Web based applications.
• Ability to concentrate on details.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• At least three (3) years sales experience required.
• Good knowledge of computers esp. Microsoft Office Suite
• Possess a professional attitude.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles is an asset.
