Forklift Driver

SUMMARY

The Forklift Operator assists with the flow of raw materials and finished products throughout the operation by ensuring the safe loading, unloading, safely transporting and storing of items using a forklift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload deliveries and receiving of items
• Safely transport materials to varying locations within the facility
• Skillfully operate forklift to prevent product damages
• Optimise loads to ensure operational efficiency
• Ensure loads are secure before transporting
• Assist in inventory monitoring by conducting inventory counts
• Identify and report safety hazards which impact the safe usage of forklifts
• Adhere to storage systems and assist in monitoring the availability and storage of materials, ensuring accessible area for easy retrieval

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Secondary education with a minimum of three (3) CXC or CSEC passes
• Valid certificate in operating forklifts
• Proficient in using forklifts, minimum of three (3) years’ experience
