SENIOR EXPORT SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Manufacturing Sector)

Overview: Our client is a leading manufacturer of Water Reservation/Distribution Systems, Waste Disposal items, and Bespoke Luxury Outdoor Décor products used by leading organizations across the Caribbean. Due to popular demand, they are seeking to recruit a successful Senior Export Sales Representative based in the Trinidad office to focus on expanding the regional markets across the Caribbean.

 Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Under minimum supervision, identify and contact prospective clients, generate sales proposals and service existing accounts ensuring quality and consistency of service and/or product delivery.

• Responsible for managing the sale of products or services to customers in other countries.

• Compile data on marketing trends, competitive products, and pricing.

• Develop knowledge of the cultural, business and political background of the countries they are responsible for, together with an understanding of consumer tastes.

• Using market research to decide what will sell in selective countries and how to sell it.

• Look for new opportunities to sell to different international markets.

• Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.

• Liaise with the Production and Warehouse Departments to ensure special and/or backlog orders are completed in time to satisfy customer ship dates/requirements.

• Attend monthly sales meetings.

• Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.

• Assist with the coordination of shipping schedules and delivery of products.

• Submit a monthly report detailing sales and prospecting activities such as sales calls, closed sales and follow-up activities.

• Assist Marketing with New Product Development (NPD) activities.

• Monitor and report on market and competitor activities.

  Desired Qualification/Experience:

• Minimum Degree in a Business-related discipline.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in Export Sales within the Manufacturing/Distribution sector.
• Strong network of relevant trade contacts across the Caribbean.
• Proficient with MS-Office
• Extremely well organized.
• Detail oriented.
• Able to “parallel process” i.e., handle many items at one time.
• Analytical approach to problem solving.
• Able to maintain a high energy level and personality.
• Self-motivated and tenacious in achieving goals.
• Self-starting and results oriented.
• Able to set clear goals for self and others.
