Experienced Construction Project Manager to supervise construction projects and ensure they are completed on time and within budget. Also ensure existing infrastructure is well maintained and functioning.

Reporting to the General Manager, the candidate must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and be able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines and aptitudes to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and exceptional organizational skills.

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the engineers, architects, contractors, etc. to plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage the tender process and negotiate best prices and terms with external vendors.
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities as necessary.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to avoid stockouts and overruns.

  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities and manage performance.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports as required.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards, report issues and provide training.
  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Plan and coordinate all equipment installations, upgrades, and refurbishments.
  • Manage the maintenance of equipment in accordance with maintenance schedule.  

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience as a construction project manager
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • A team player with leadership abilities
  • Degree in engineering, building science or relevant field.
  • PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
