The Food Runner is responsible for assisting the Servers with the timely delivery of all food and beverage orders and therefore must pay special attention to the presentation and accuracy of all orders.

Position Summary

The Food Runner is responsible for assisting the Servers with the timely delivery of all food and beverage orders and therefore must pay special attention to the presentation and accuracy of all orders.

The Food Runner must also keep side stations clean, in order to maintain an inviting lounge environment. The right person must be energetic and have the ability to move quickly on the floor. In addition, the Food Runner must be able to efficiently pass on accurate information to the Servers in the event that a guest requests any food and beverage.

 

Position Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

 

  • Greet and welcome guests and respond to their requests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Serve the beverage and food in the appropriate order
  • Quickly remove dishes as guests finish each meal at the end of each meal
  • Abide by all corporate act, laws and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Replenish beverages when necessary, and check with guests to make sure they are satisfied
  • Perform other related functions that may be assigned.

 

Food Runner Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Must be a citizen or have residency in Trinidad and Tobago
  • Must be fully vaccinated
  • Fluency in a second language would be considered and asset
  • A minimum of three (3) CXC O’ Levels and/or certificate in relevant training.
  • Must have basic knowledge of service standards, guest relations, food and beverage preparations as well as etiquette.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in food and beverage preparation or customer service is preferred. Hotel experience is preferred.
  • Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight;
  • Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with cooks and other staff.
  • A valid food badge
  • Refined verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; weekends, holidays, overnight shifts
  • Well-groomed, professional appearance.
