The Children's Authority of Trinidad and Tobago is seeking to recruit for an Human Resource Assistant, on contract.
The Human Resources Assistant provides clerical, administrative and other Human Resource Management support in the various human resources sub-functions, which include recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and rewards management as assigned.
Principal Accountabilities/ Key Functions:
- Prepares advertisements for vacant positions, conducts preliminary review of applications, schedules and organizes interviews and prepares interview documents.
- Monitors contract arrangements for staff, ensuring end of contract dates are communicated to the respective Manager at least three (3) months prior to the expiry date.
- Initiate the contract renewal process and seek the necessary managerial approval.
- Keeps employees informed by conducting educational programmes on benefits and other arrangements.
- Ensures that periodic performance assessments are done by circulating to supervisors the pertinent appraisal documents and follows-up on the completion of appraisals.
- Assists with the administration of the Medical and other Employee Care Programmes by liaising with the providers to advance staff issues.
- Assists with the execution of training plans by liaising with training providers and managers on the registration and participation of staff on approved programmes.
- Updates human resource records by maintaining and filing all documents in accordance with the Authority’s requirements.
- Maintains the HRIS database to allow for timely decision making.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and participating in professional societies.
- Supports the development and maintenance of a team environment by performing other related duties of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Management, Social Sciences, Human Resources Management or related field.
- At least one (1) year experience in an Generalist Role in Human Resources Management.
