We are an established medium-sized company specializing in the wholesale distribution of apparel and related merchandize. The Warehouse Manager must be a results-driven individual to lead our warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Position: Warehouse Manager

Location: Kingston

Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Lead and manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and distributing products. Ensure all processes are executed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Implement effective inventory control measures to optimize stock levels, minimize excess inventory, and reduce stockouts. Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Team Management: Train, and supervise a team of warehouse staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment. Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement innovative solutions to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain product quality by enforcing quality standards and procedures. Implement measures to prevent damage, spoilage, or loss of merchandise during handling and storage.
  • Order Fulfillment: Oversee the accurate and timely picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders. Coordinate with other departments, such as Sales and Customer Service, to ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and storage systems. Arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture within the warehouse. Implement safety guidelines and best practices to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards. Conduct regular safety training for warehouse personnel.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory levels, order fulfillment rates, and operational efficiency. Present findings to senior management.
  • Vendor Relationships: Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Maintain positive working relationships to facilitate efficient procurement processes.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in warehouse management, preferably in a retail or distribution setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of effectively managing and motivating teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across departments.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in warehousing.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
