Position: Senior Accountant (Trinidad & Tobago)
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Financial Controller
Summary: Overall, the incumbent is responsible for the monthly financial closing process coordinating all inputs to ensure the Financial accounts are prepared on a timely basis and accounting policies and procedures are adhered to. Additionally, the incumbent performs daily cash management by verifying the timeliness of the daily cash deposits.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares Financial Accounts for assigned Brands by the 10th working day of the following month coordinating all journals and inputs required. Financial Accounts include Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and all the appropriate supporting schedules.
Ensures compliance with Group Reporting Standards and all internal controls and standards are met on a monthly basis, including compliance with Group Report format, reconciliation of inter-company balances, appropriate supporting schedules for financial statements, certification that all internal controls have been reviewed and performed, and that timelines of reporting deadlines are met.
Prepares Financial Reporting Package for assigned brands monthly for the Executive and middle management team.
Assists in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan and monthly forecasts.
Assists with the external audit process.
Supervises the DSR department to verify that daily deposits banked are timely and intact and any discrepancies are brought to the attention of the relevant personnel as required.
Assists in the hiring and orientation of direct-report employees: trains, supervises, coaches and evaluates direct-report employees, conducting performance appraisals.
Review Bank and Accounts Payable & Receivable reconciliations
Preparation of VAT returns

Qualifications and Working Experience
ACCA qualified.
A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting and Finance.
Working knowledge of System Dynamics/Great Plains is an asset
