The Applications Administrator- Level III position is an integral team member who is responsible for administering all aspects of the enterprise applications (i.e. commercial-off-the-shelf applications and custom built applications).

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Applications Administrator III position is an integral team member who is responsible for administering all aspects of the enterprise applications (i.e. commercial-off-the-shelf applications and custom built applications), including enhancement, reporting and interfaces to other applications. The incumbent will be required to administer various applications, recommend security parameter changes, configure the applications’ client software, provide user support, conduct training, enhance the applications based on user requests and organizational requirements, as well as build interfaces utilizing appropriate programming tools where necessary.

ELEMENTS OF MAJOR DUTIES 

  1. 24/7 support of production’s portfolio applications to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by the company’s business systems.
  2. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to define business requirements, translates business requirements into technical solutions and supports the implementation of them.
  3. Ensuring compliance with all established policies, directives and license agreements that impact portfolio applications.
  4. Performs coding/scripting activities and prepares programs for operation or production.
  5. Assists with the testing of new or modified programs, to ensure satisfactory systems performances.
  6. Assists with the development of user guides, instructional material and other documents as necessary or required.
  7. Supports the establishment of appropriate policies, procedures and tools to effectively support the operations, maintenance, performance and problem analysis and resolution.
  8. Participates in change management and gives support in the software design, development, QA, implementation process. 
  9. Aids in risk identification and suggests mitigation strategies where applicable.      

EDUCATION/SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES/EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
  2. Exposure to AWS Cloud environment.
  3. Proficiency in developing SQL or PL/SQL
  4. Proficiency with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
  5. Experienced in Linux and Windows scripting.
  6. Fair understanding of networking and cloud technologies with at least basic knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  7. Fair understanding of programming techniques or programming extensions such as PL/SQL and Transact-SQL.
  8. Demonstrates at least basic technical knowledge of all phases of the applications systems analysis and programming activities.
  9. Self-starter and be able to perform work with low supervisory direction. 
  10. Strong oral and written skills coupled with effective communication.        
  11. Well-developed analytical and critical thinking capabilities
