JOB DESCRIPTION: Project Manager

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, managing, and tracking of facility projects within the Margaritaville Caribbean Group portfolio. The Project Manager works closely with all Executives and Directors to coordinate the people and processes needed to deliver the project on time with the desired results. This position also requires that you know the philosophy and history of Margaritaville Caribbean Group, learn the History of all our brands and also to learn and apply the philosophy of Margaritaville:  Code of Conduct, Mission, Vision and Core Values.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Attend bi-weekly department meetings
  • Provide a monthly Projects updated recap 
  • Track and document all key learnings (Basically document the project shortfalls etc. better ways to improve the process, contractors etc.) 
  • Define the project scope of work in collaboration with Heads of Department and determine the core objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion.
  • Create a detailed scope of work which identifies key milestones and resources (timeline, money, equipment, etc.) required to complete the project.
  • Manage the collaboration of multiple departments on assigned projects. This includes facilitating communication between internal and external contributors of the projects
  • Manage project plans, expectations, scope, and timelines for assigned projects based on prioritization of each project that is assigned, while maintaining flexibility to potential changes in prioritization.
  • Provide direction on design conceptualization, space planning and feasibility on new and renovation projects.
  • Prepare project presentations and feasibilities utilizing inhouse or local/overseas architects and designers as needed.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
  • Execute the project according to the project plan and approved schedule
  • Establish a weekly communication report to update appropriate staff on project progress and any changes to the schedule
  • Manage internal and external project staff according to the established policies and practices of the company
  • Manage, monitor and prepare all budgeted project expenditures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
  • Conduct site visits to review project timing and quality of the work to ensure that it meets the project standards
  • Maintain and develop an approved contractor/consultant’s data base to utilize for all projects
  • Maintain procedures to standardize project activities and ensure all project information is appropriately documented and secured
  • Maintain and develop external vender database for all Fixtures, Furniture and Equipment (FF&E)
  • Produce, analyze and advise on specifications and material selections
  • Research problems, identify issues and advise on innovative solutions
    • Monitor yearly CAPEX budget FF&E for all venues including tracking and venue installation
    • Performs any other duties as assigned by  the  VP operations

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate Design concepts and construction drawings to a variety of audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft applications including Outlook and Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of Adobe software (i.e. Acrobat Professional, Illustrator).
  • Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Ability to coordinate with other departments (Development, Operations, Marketing, Retail and IT) to complete projects on time.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with the Restaurant Industry

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability is required to work with a significant diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize job-related equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and/or weekends.
    • Ability to travel
    • 60/40% split on office work environment and site work environment
  • Must have exceptional personal grooming habits.
  • Attend departmental meetings when required.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Tertiary  Degree in Architectural/Engineering/Construction or related field a related subject and/ or minimum of  five (5) years minimum work experience in a related field.
  • Relevant qualifications will be an asset
  • Minimum 5-7 years relevant work experience with QSR, retail or food industry.
  • Minimum 3-5 years project management experience in design and construction related field
  • Proficient in Auto CAD, Microsoft Office, Simple Accounting and Data Base Management
