The Service Technician Major Appliance will be responsible for the timely review of all assigned jobs to promote resolution with all customers. The Service Technician Major Appliance is solely responsible for efficient and accurate diagnostic testing of all failed Major Appliances with the relevant evidence for claim submission to all Suppliers. They are responsible for ensuring real-time updates on the ERP system and must include the technical evidence and specifications of all parts required for timely and optimal solutions. Jobs can be scheduled on site or in the workshop based on operational demands and can include but is not limited to preventative and corrective maintenance as well as assembly and installations. They are responsible for conducting all tasks and ensuring that all interactions with customers are professional and in accordance with SDL’s policies and procedures.
Job Description:
- Timely review of your respective job calendar on ERP system to efficiently plan jobs to facilitate resolution.
- Ensure that you are equipped with the relevant product knowledge: research and conduct virtual troubleshooting if applicable.
- Research failure points to recommend solutions before the site visit.
- Timely return of all failed parts with 100 % accountability for daily reconciliation with the parts supervisor.
- Completion of all relevant NetSuite transactions in real time: job card update, part request, part return, evidence for claim submission, loan request.
- Prepare and submit reports to the Assistant Service Manager as required.
- Ensure that all jobs are completed in accordance with the defined schedules. Zero tolerance for any unauthorized deviations.
- Daily review of all completed job cards is mandatory, to ensure timely escalations to the relevant teams: parts request, supplier feedback, loaner.
- Promote timely communication within key stakeholders, internal and external customers. Responsible for providing timely feedback to the customers within 48 hours of completed site visit.
- Perform all duties in conformance with appropriate health, safety, security and environmental and SDL’s policies and procedures.
- Comply with Group’s processes and policies as set out and stated in ANSA McAL Blue Book.
- Any other duties, which may be assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of five (5) CXC/CSEC Passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in and knowledge of appliance repair and installation of major appliances.
- Certificate in refrigeration.
