SCOPE:

The Accounting Assistant ensures that the daily processes in the Accounting Department are carried out efficiently and effectively. The accounting information is up to date, and that records for these transactions can be easily accessed/retrieved.  Must be able to use bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets and accounting software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• General assistance in Accounts Department.
• Accounts Payable functions
• Accounts Receivable functions
• Posting accounting data using various software – Dac Easy, QuickBooks and Excel
• Preparation and Posting of Journals.
• Bank Reconciliation
• Inter-company billings.
• Preparing cheque payment vouchers and cheques - Dac Easy and manually.
• Payroll processing.
• Knowledge of Statutory Payments.
• Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures in accounting activities.
• Assist office with photocopying, filing and other related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum five (5) O’ Level Passes including English Language and Mathematics.
• Previous experience in accounting.
• Studying towards an accounting qualification will be desirable.
• High competency in Excel, Word, Dac Easy Accounting.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Able to work under pressure.
