DELI AND BAKERY MANAGER

We are seeking to recruit a creative and dynamic Deli and Bakery Manager with the ability  to forecast, plan and oversee all locations and staff, and maximize sales and revenue through customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of food and safety regulations.
  • Ability to create policies, procedures and standards for the department.
  • Hire and train new staff in baking, cake decoration and cooking.
  • Manage the Deli and Bakery operations across the island within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards.
  • Design menus, purchase goods and make necessary improvements to enhance the department.
  • Conduct analysis on an on-going basis in order to optimize quality levels of product and service, customer satisfaction, operating cost, sanitation and cleanliness.
  • Ability to bake and cook and at a commercial level.
  • Ability to identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to their concerns.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management or a teaching degree in Food Service Production and Management.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in managing Deli and Bakery or restaurant outlets.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Flexible working hours (i.e., be able to work late in the evenings and on weekends when necessary).
  • Must own a reliable motor vehicle.
  • Must be willing to travel across the Island.
  • Must be competent in product costing (manual and system).
  • Proven experience in inventory management.
  • Great leadership abilities.
  • Ability to forecast lunch and pastry requirements for each location.
  • Knowledge of the food industry.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to create reports and present at management meetings.
