Responsibilities
- Teaming with tax professionals within a compliance group to execute tax compliance work
- Determine all information required to ensure/complete accurate tax compliance products within the budget. Formulate a plan to gather/communicate information
- Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that meet client expectations
- Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and applying them to relevant situations
- Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products
- Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches
Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience within a Finance and Accounting or tax compliance environment with exposure to tax matters
- Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Economics (or any related field) and/ or completed or pursuing a professional certification e.g CPA, ACCA, LEC
- Working knowledge of current and emerging tax issues as well as tax laws, with the ability to apply knowledge
- General knowledge or coursework in tax laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- A commitment to learning in a tax technology environment
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Candidate should be; curious, an active learner, agile, innovative and open to new ideas
