Massy Wood is seeking Expressions of Interest for Senior Electrical Engineers for a potential project based in Trinidad.
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the preparation and checking of discipline deliverables.
Roles & Responsibilities
Health, Safety, Security and Environment
- All employees shall adhere to the company’s HSSE Rules, Policies, and Procedures whilst actively participating in the Company’s Leading Indicator initiatives and activities that will eliminate and minimize risk to him and others
- You shall ensure all unsafe acts; conditions and events are reported immediately to your line supervisor or the Company’s HSSE Manager and where practical you should stop all unsafe acts and conditions
Quality
- Ensure the Massy Wood Group Quality Management system Procedures are understood and implemented
- Engage in the continual improvement of Massy Wood Group processes, procedures and quality culture of Massy Wood Group
- Ensure the integration of Risk assessment (HSSE & Project Delivery) and mitigation elements within the planning and execution of all Project Design and execution activities. These assessments should take place from the conceptualization (FEED) and planning stages, and re-assessed throughout the execution of the field activity
Financial
- Awareness and understanding of the business drivers within the Massy Wood Group / client relationship and how these can be influenced.
Technical
- Originate and check discipline deliverables
- Assist the Discipline Lead Engineer and/or Discipline Function Lead as directed
- Produce solutions that are safe, cost effective, fit for purpose and add value to both Massy Wood Group and the client
- Ensure operational and maintenance issues are addressed in the design
- Provide discipline input to procurement and construction activities
- Conduct surveys, both onshore and offshore, to determine information to allow execution of scopes of work
- Attend technical meetings if delegated by the Discipline Lead Engineer
- Attend Design Reviews, HAZOPs, Constructability Assessments etc. if delegated by the Discipline Lead Engineer
- Communicate with Discipline Engineers and Designers to ensure design integrity and consistency
- Understand standard contract requirements and scopes as they relate to the discipline
- Liaise with the Discipline Function Lead to identify and implement improvements in discipline working practices
- Capture and communicate lessons learnt to the Discipline Function Lead
- Technical assurance of discipline deliverables, discipline content of IDC prints and vendor documents
- Supervise discipline personnel ensuring Massy Wood Group and project specific Management Systems and Procedures are followed
- Knowledge of and adherence to Massy Wood Group and project specific Project Management Systems and Procedures relevant to the role
- Develop discipline scopes of work, estimates and schedules if delegated by the Discipline Lead Engineer
- Knowledge and application of client specific standards
- Knowledge of and adherence to Massy Wood Group and project specific Engineering Management Systems and Procedures relevant to the role
- Demonstrates the appropriate competence level for the job
- Is a source for guidance on a majority of discipline applications.
- Represent Massy Wood Group to clients and suppliers / vendors in a professional manner
- Responsible for using opportunities at meetings with clients and suppliers/ vendors to learn of additional work which Massy Wood Group could undertake and to promote Massy Wood Group’s capabilities
- Self-checking of own work
- Check discipline deliverables, discipline content of IDC prints and vendor documents
- Reviewing work processes of discipline personnel ensuring Massy Wood Group Management Systems and Procedures are followed
- Coach / guide of discipline personnel on a majority of discipline applications
- Keep a log of competencies gained through further education, external training and internal / on the job training
- Identify areas where skills are lacking and suggest methods for improvement
- Membership of a professional body is preferred. Work towards fulfillment of the requirements to obtain either professional or registered engineering status
- Identify increases or reductions in scope of work within own area of responsibility and advising the Discipline Lead Engineer accordingly
- Identify areas of concern during the course of any project to the Discipline Lead Engineer while proposing necessary corrective action
- Identify discipline scopes of work if delegated by the Discipline Lead Engineer
- Prepare of discipline CTR estimates if delegated by the Discipline Lead Engineer
- Provide input to project execution plans and schedules if delegated by the Discipline Lead Engineer
- Prepare timesheets accurately and timely
- Perform all other job-related functions as required
