Job Summary:
ANSA Motors Trinidad is seeking to identify a suitable candidate to join the Commercial Service Team. The position requires the person to efficiently manage the daily Technical Operations of the Service Department ensuring vehicles are fixed right the first time to guarantee Customer Satisfaction whilst adhering to established Company policies and procedures. To keep current with advancements in the brand products/designs and develop training strategies to ensure the competence level of the technical staff is elevated to meet these changes. To supervise personnel assigned to the workshop and area of responsibility.
Job Description:
- Operational
- To oversee the diagnostics, servicing, and repairs of all vehicles for the division to ensure manufacturers recommendations and standards are met.
- Ensure all Technical staff are adequately trained on the DMS, have access to CDK and user activity monitored daily to ensure 100% compliance.
- To review all electronic stories entered on the DMS repair orders by Technicians daily to ensure accuracy.
- To oversee the removal of Parts from New Vehicles ensuring adherence to company policies.
- To ensure the smooth flow of jobs and communication throughout the service department ensuring all parties are kept abreast of job status/progress.
- To complete technical reports about the products to the principal dealer in an effort to increase the quality of products.
- Warranty
- Ensure all Parts on Warranty are accurately tagged by Technicians before entering in the logbooks and securing in the Warranty Parts room.
- Customer Service
- To manage outsourced work ensuring jobs are expedited to meet customer demands.
- To ensure an effective Quality Control process is instituted and maintained to ensure service/repairs are done right the first time and reduce customer dissatisfaction.
- People Management
- To manage cross training/leave of all technical staff to ensure workshop is always fully operational.
- To ensure the acquisition and maintenance of all Manufacturers’ recommended tools for the workshop to improve Technician efficiencies to “Fix it Right the First Time”. Ensure tools are properly secured and accounted for daily.
- To assist with the development of the division’s service strategy annually and monitor to ensure achievement. To monitor industry and environmental conditions and recommend methods to gain and maintain a competitive advantage.
- To review and set annual Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for technical employees and conduct quarterly Performance Management review meetings with employees. To complete and submit Annual Performance Review in timely manner.
- To develop and execute annual training and development plans for all technical employees and monitor progress to ensure targets are being met.
- To utilize the DMS to monitor and manage the productivity and efficiency of employees. To monitor alerts on DMS and respond in a timely manner.
- To establish and maintain practices designed to motivate employees, as well as reduce absenteeism.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a mechanical workshop with a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in related industry.
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrated Computer literacy skills.
- Experience with a Dealer Management system will be an asset.
