Van Salesman (Islandwide)

Mother’s Bakery is expanding its sales presence islandwide and is seeking to partner with experienced Van Sales Men (with established routes).

Main Responsibilities:

• Introduce and sell the full range of Mother’s Bakery products to current & prospective customers on assigned routes.
• Receive orders and make delivery to credit customers.
• Increase sales within designated routes and areas not currently serviced.
• Ensure that goods are merchandised.
• Communicate new product and service opportunities at every opportunity
• Offer excellent customer service to current & prospective customers.
• Resolve any customer related issue as they arise.

Qualification, Experience & Skills:

• Minimum High School education
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• At least 2 years experience in a similar role
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication and time management skills

Attributes:

• Highly level of honesty, especially with handling cash for the company.
• High level of integrity; ensure that there is follow through with commitments.
• Good driving record; fully qualified to drive commercial carrier being used for van sales.
• Ability to communicate with customers at all levels.

Special Conditions:

• Ability to accurately manage cash.
• Excellent knowledge of routes and driving conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Special Requirements:

• Operate a reliable van or station wagon suitable for transport and delivery of food products. If vehicle is not owned, written permission from owner to the operator is required.
• Must possess a general drivers licence (commercial carrier) appropriate for the laden weight of the commercial vehicle being used.
• Must have all relevant/current documents for motor vehicle
• Vehicle must be:

-  Enclosed panel-type van or station wagon
-  Fully road worthy
-  Licensed as a commercial carrier with all required markings
-  Good physical condition (clean internally and externally) to adequately represent the Mother’s brand
-  Fully lockable and enclosed to protect goods from theft or damage.

• Valid Food Handler’s Permit
• Clean Police Record
• Credible business references
