Store Manager- Negril

We are seeking an experience and passionate Store Manager for our LFA Country Store in Negril.

As the Store Manager and Buyer for LFA Country store, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the store and managing the buying process. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the store's profitability, customer satisfaction, and smooth daily functioning. This multifaceted position requires strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as a deep understanding of the retail industry and purchasing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Store Management:

  • Provide effective leadership and supervision to store employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to optimize store efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, pricing policies, and merchandising standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.

Buying and Merchandising:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select merchandise suppliers/vendors based on product quality, pricing, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts and establish favourable terms and conditions with suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
  • Monitor market trends, customer demands, and competitor activities to make informed buying decisions and maintain a competitive product assortment.
  • Plan and manage inventory levels to optimize sales, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop attractive displays, promotions, and seasonal campaigns to drive sales.

Customer Service and Relations:

  • Foster a customer-centric environment by ensuring excellent customer service and resolving customer inquiries or complaints promptly.
  • Train and motivate store staff to provide exceptional service and product knowledge to customers.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and the local community to enhance the store's reputation and customer loyalty.
  • Stay updated on customer preferences, market trends, and new products to offer relevant recommendations and improve customer satisfaction.

Financial Management: 

  • Develop and manage the store's budget, including sales targets, expenses, and profitability goals.
  • Monitor and analyze financial reports, such as sales figures, profit margins, and expense ratios, to make data-driven decisions.
  • Implement cost control measures, such as optimizing staffing levels, minimizing wastage, and negotiating favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize shrinkage.

 Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in store management and buying, preferably in the supermarket or grocery industry.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to make informed business decisions.
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising strategies, inventory management, and pricing strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, suppliers, and employees effectively.
  • Proficiency in using retail management software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities.
