Human Resource Management activities of the Company to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as compensation, recruitment, industrial relations, policies and regulatory compliance.

Position Scope

The Human Resource Generalist assists, direct, plan and coordinate Human Resource Management activities of the Company to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as compensation, recruitment, industrial relations, policies and regulatory compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in formulating, developing and implementing policies, objectives, standards and guidelines pertaining to all human resource matters to achieve the Strategic Human Resource objectives
  • Assists with the development, implementation and administration of recruitment and selection, and succession planning, across all assigned location
  • Advises Management on disciplinary matters and other matters of an industrial relations nature.
  • Prepares letters and industrial relations related correspondence as required.
  • Files correspondence and submits to relevant authorities in accordance with set time frames.
  • Sets up and conducts tribunals and advising prosecutors as required.
  • Conducts investigations into industrial relations matters.
  • Leads the process pertaining to termination, suspension, grievance and discipline.
  • Participates in drafting collective agreement proposals, and ensures the adherence of collective agreements and human resources policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates the Job Evaluation process and ensures that jobs are assessed and graded
  • Implements and maintains a robust Performance Management System that identifies employee potential and training needs at all levels throughout the company.
  • Develops, reviews and amends the Human Resource and Administrative Policies and Procedures, and systems for effective functioning of the company
  • Oversees the administration of compensation and benefit reviews.
  • Advises executives on all matters related to the human resources services and practices
  • Ensures the preparation of required Human Resource management reports are completed in timely matter and can present to the executives.
  • Assist with assigned workforce, monitoring, appraising, motivating and disciplining as required
  • Develops/Sustains an engaging culture, based on our culture and values that fuels business results, leveraging employee feedback survey results and other insights as a guide.
  • Builds strong relationships with all functional leaders and serves as a trusted advisor for employees, navigating the employee life cycle including promotions, resignations, transfers, terminations, and performance management.
  • Leads integration of all company Talent related programs and processes and leads the annual review and development planning, succession and bench building and calibrations.
  • Leads recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes that supports a remarkable candidate experience and helps build teams of high potential, high performing talent.
  • Invests in deep relationships to ensure we are bringing the right talent to the right role at the right time, exceeding our teams’ expectations, and hiring for the long term.
  • Performs other related duties that may be required by the job function

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management
  • Certification in Industrial Relations
  • At least Six (6) years of progressive experience in Human Resource Management (in industries such as hospitality, retails or food would be an asset)  
  • Working knowledge of employment law, organizational planning/ development, industrial relations, employee Engagement, Culture and People
