The position holder’s focus is to track and monitor sales across the entire sales process, maintain existing business and foster new business opportunities, offering consistently high levels of customer service in keeping with the customer service standards and policies of the Company.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all requests for all services are dispatched by the Team Leaders in keeping with the Company’s delivery service standards.
  • Reviews Route Sheets for specific areas from the prior day to assess any shortfalls between budgeted and actual sales.
  • Tracks the progress of all Salesmen under his/her span of control against agreed sales targets.   Investigates variances to budgeted sales targets through discussions with the Team Leaders designated for the specific areas, as well as the designated driver.
  • Vehicle Tracking – based upon a sample of drivers each week, reviews the GPS reports on vehicle usage, including but not limited to, hours worked, start and stop times and area coverage.
  • Works with the Team Leaders for the speedy resolution of all customer complaints, and escalates to the Manager on those issues that requires his/her intervention.
  • Communicates with customers on resolution of complaints/concerns immediately once the issue has been resolved.
  • Conducts customer visits as required, independently or in conjunction with the Trade personnel/ Manager in an effort to resolve red flag issues
  • Authorize any Route changes for Depot areas
  • Ensure 100% compliance of the use of the Company’s computerized system for all aspects of the sales function.
  • In conjunction with the Team Leaders, follows up on a daily basis at strategic intervals in an effort to support the sales process by dispatching relay vehicles as required.
  • Conducts, as directed and in keeping with the operations of the Company, meetings with the drivers and Team Leaders to address:
  • changes in business strategies
  • challenges of the drivers
  • challenges of the Company
  • Reviews on a daily basis, the spreadsheet of sales and informs the Manager of irregularities/variances on a timely basis so that strategies can be put in place to correct same.
  • Conduct a detailed check and review of Summary Report to verify that all Sales Orders are accounted for, deliveries have been confirmed and canceled orders have been duly identified and authorized. Report any issues identified to the Manager and obtain relevant documents from Team Leaders as required, inclusive of employee reports, where applicable.
  • Prepares relevant reports and submits to the Manager in keeping with established timelines
  • Reports to the Manager the status of all sales vehicles on a daily basis to ensure that there are road-worthy vehicles to service all areas.
  • Liaises with the Operations Manager and/or Garage on all sales vehicle breakdowns and communicates immediately with the Manager in the event of delays to repairs are encountered with the Garage team which will impact the delivery of sales.
  • Conducts a detail daily review of timesheets and supporting documents for casual and permanent workers, sign off for the verification and accuracy of information entered.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Associates Degree or Diploma level 5 in the field of Business Management or a similar field
  • Five (5) years working experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Computer literate, with an intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Analytical and critical thinking methodologies
