Job Title: Group Senior Internal Auditor

 

 

Primary objective of the job: 

We are seeking experienced candidates with strong communication and project management skills. This Group Senior Internal Auditor role is a strong match for those who can balance multiple responsibilities. They must be proficient at examining and analyzing, financial and operational records of the company to determine the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal control systems, including the quality of ongoing operations and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and board policies/procedures.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review of the internal control environment of the Digicel Group through the performance of financial and operational internal audits.
  • Perform audit projects and consulting engagements by the established methodology and within budgeted timeframes.
  • Create or assist in the creation of planning documentation, such as project budgets, scoping assessments, and audit programs according to department standards.
  • Under limited supervision, perform audit procedures, such as interviews, identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes. Evaluate current auditing procedures and propose changes as needed.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing drafts of audits or review reports, including developing clear, constructive, and actionable recommendations to address identified risks.
  • Communicate or assist in communicating the results of the audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.
  • Perform other related work or external audit assistance as Internal Audit management assigns.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships throughout the company and within the department.
  • Represent Internal Audit on internal project teams.

 

Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CPA/Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of recent financial, operational, or compliance audit experience at a public accounting firm.
  • Solid analytic and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to identify solutions and recommendations that effectively address business and control needs.
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles, control procedures, and audit techniques
  • The ability to multi-task effectively, responding to changing business priorities and deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for initiative.
  • Commitment to excellence and continual improvement.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and audit-related software.
