Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA):
REGIONAL COORDINATOR, PATIENT ESCORTS
The incumbent will be responsible for supervising and directing the operational activities of all the areas covered by the Patient Escort Department throughout the North-Central Regional Health Authority.
Main Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and direction for the department and its staff.
- Ensures that a clean, warm and welcoming ambience is fostered and maintained with proper functioning equipment in each area there the Patient Escort Department provides coverage.
- Develops and monitors systems and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure that services conform to the Authority’s needs.
- Ensures that the Shift Supervisors and Patient Escorts functions are performed efficiently and effectively.
- Initiates changes in systems and procedures to minimize patient waiting times.
- Investigates and reports on complaints from members of staff, patients and the public.
- Plans and controls the Patient Escort Services budget and use of equipment, space and supply resources to effectively meet the goals and objectives.
- Establishes workload patterns for staff through appropriate analysis and scheduling to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Monitors and provides systemic supervision of all activities of various sub-sections with a view to solving operational problems and ensuring their efficient functioning
- Prepares annual estimates of revenue and expenditure.
- Ensures and nurtures and environment where teamwork and cooperation is evident.
- Ensures all departments operations are conducted in accordance with accepted and expected ethical, lawful and professional standards.
- Confers with department supervisors and members of the professional staff concerning their needs and requirements and take appropriate action to provide the facilities and services required
- Oversees and ensures proper orientation, training and safety practices are executed.
- Supervises and motivates staff to a high level of performance; administer personnel and disciplinary actions and resolve grievances
- Performs related duties as directed by the organisational relationship.
Minimum Qualification, Requirements and Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences/Hospital Administration from an accredited educational institution.
- Postgraduate certification in Business Administration, Management or any related discipline will be an asset.
- In excess of ten (10) years experience in a Hospital environment; five (5) of which must be in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Any other qualifications, training and experience may be considered
