HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT SUPERVISOR

A reputable Jamaican construction company with an over thirty (30) year track record of successfully executing projects invites applicants for the following position: HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT SUPERVISOR 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a) Day to day safe and efficient running of the workshop.

b) Inspect and prepare written reports on the status of equipment.

c) To troubleshoot, maintain and repair all engine driven mobile plant to include but not be limited to motor cars, pickups, trucks, trailers, backhoes tractors, and excavators. Also, stationary engine driven construction equipment to include standby generators, masonry saws, concrete floats, concrete vibrators, water pumps.  All company equipment shall be able to operate as per original manufacturers design specification.

d) Perform daily pre-use service to equipment using the appropriate checklists.

e) Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

f) Effect repairs to electrical, engine, hydraulic, transmission or other equipment systems.

g) If so authorized, operate company vehicles and equipment in accordance with company policies and with the Jamaican road traffic regulations

h) Adhere to fluid contamination control guidelines.

i) Maintain tidy workshop and equipment maintenance/repair area: work environment shall be free of all defective parts, consumable containers, waste rags, old lubricants, solvents and debris which may be generated due to maintenance/repair activities.

j) Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements:

• Minimum four (4) years working experience on Engines, Hydraulic Systems and Transmissions for the following equipment types:  Backhoe Loaders, Front End Loaders, Excavators.
• Is a graduate from H.E.A.R.T./JGAS or has graduated from an approved vocational/technical educational institution where the curriculum focused on auto mechanics and electrical work.
• Is equipped with full service tools (spanner set, hammers, pliers, socket set, allen keys, pin punches...etc.)
• Proficiency in the use of computers would be an asset.
• Must own a reliable motor vehicle
