The Director, Library Services has overall responsibility for all aspects of library operations and leads library staff in a collaborative environment that is responsive to the needs of the College.

The successful candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies and will use that understanding as a foundation for leading the library services toward a new vision of meeting the future needs of COSTAATT’s students through hybrid learning platforms. The incumbent will interact with students, faculty and other members of staff who support the teaching and learning process. In general, the Director Library Services ensures that the College provides appropriate and effective library services in accordance with the institutional mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides vision and leadership for library services to support the College’s academic goals and plans, and coordinates academic information resources.
• Responsible for collection development, including selecting materials and weeding the collection; maintains current knowledge of review sources, trends, patron requests and other sources of information; guides other staff relative to specific collections.
• Works with Academic departments to develop new services, programmes, policies, and procedures; makes recommendations for improvements; attends academic meetings; implements academic policies.
• Assesses the needs of the campus libraries for long-range planning.

• Responsible for recruitment, assignment, evaluation and training of personnel; identifies and facilitates continuing education opportunities
