Job Summary

 

We are seeking ACCOUNTING CLERKS to work in a dynamic micro-financing institution NEW ERA FINANCE LTD with corporate office situated in KINGSTON. Position is open in KINGSTON, MONTEGO BAY, SAV-LA-MAR, & MAY PEN.

Ideal candidates will be required to perform the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Data entry in primary and secondary books
  2. Reconcile bank accounts
  3. Prepare monthly reports
  4. Update client’s account with payments and other transaction entries
  5. Disburse payments by check to clients
  6. Receive payments from clients
  7. Manage petty cash
  8. Assist with other branch duties from time-to-time such as debt collections, site visits and marketing

Candidates should possess the minimum qualifications outlined below:

 Qualifications and skills

  • Associate/Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Accounting or Office administration
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Good telephone etiquette
  • Professional values and attitudes suitable for a financial institution
  • Assertive and persevering attitude
