The Senior Internal Auditor (Snr. IA) independently plans, executes and reports on all JMMB TT entities as assigned. During these assignments the Snr. IA is expected to independently complete audits from planning to final wrap up.

JOB SCOPE
The Senior Internal Auditor independently plans, executes and reports on all TT entities (JMMB Bank, JMMB Express Finance, JMMB Investments, JMMB Securities and the Financial Holding Company) - Regulatory, Branches and Business Banking - Credit and Operational Audits, Investments and Equity Audits, Special Audits as assigned by the BACC, Fraud and Compliance related Audits/Projects as assigned quarterly. During these assignments the Senior Internal Auditor is expected to independently complete audits from planning to final wrap up - applying risk and control concepts to scenarios encountered and identify any potential issues for the review of and direction by the Manager, Internal Audit or Country Chief Internal Auditor (CCIA) as assigned.


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Audit Planning: Plans audit reviews, ensuring all applicable preparatory work is completed in an effective and timely manner. Business Process Matrix, Fraud Risk Assessment, Preliminary Findings reports and Draft Audit report in keeping with the Internal Audit Charter and Group Internal Audit Procedures Manual and guided by the Work Program approved by the Manager-IA.
  2. Audit Fieldwork:  Conducts assigned audit assignments by effectively documenting internal control issues/breaches using the Internal Audit Database and other tools (Teammate, Data Analytics and Microsoft Office), provide value added recommendations and effectively and accurately prepare draft reports which are clear and concise. 
    Planning and Taking Stock Meetings - Communicate timely any matters for discussion, significant issues identified during fieldwork. Document accurate and timely updates in Teammate from Planning and Taking stock meetings.
    Respond to/action Audit Review Notes - Action remediation points identified by reviewers.
    Time and Expense/Budgets - ensure completion in keeping with the budgeted time assigned and reporting/escalating where there are delays facilitating timely reporting to the Board Audit and Compliance Committee and Senior  Management.
    Supervisory Responsibilities - Adequately supervise Internal Auditors/seconded/co sourced Team Members on audits assigned; perform timely quality assessments after each audit to form part of quarterly PBSC.
    Post Audit Surveys - ensure survey results are received timely for all audits assigned for inclusion in PBSC.
    Audit Wrap Up Procedures - Perform Audit Wrap Up Procedures in Teammate/T/Drive in absence of Teammate.
    Peer Reviews - complete review notes effectively and timely complete as assigned quarterly.

  3. Other Internal Audit Activities/Administration:
    Client - Assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports for the Manager Internal Audit, Senior Management, and the Board.  

    • Assist with investigations of irregularities discovered by or brought to the auditor’s attention.
    • Assist with preparation of BACC papers and planning of BACC meetings.
    • Develop and maintain productive business relationships across all TT Audit Entities and within the Internal Audit Group in keeping with the IIA Standards, Definition Code of Ethics and our Vision of Love.
    • Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of Risk Management Dashboard, Regulatory Reporting Forms, CBTT Quarterly Interim Monitoring Questionnaire, Governance Risk and Control (GRC)Model as assigned quarterly for PBSCs quarterly updates.
    • Ensure PBSC, PDP and Coaching Conversations Updates are completed by Due Dates as required quarterly.
  4. Adding Value - Supportive and Collaborative Partner:
    Client
    Follow Up Reviews:  Independently lead the Follow-Up Reviews Process for audits previous quarters. 
    Reaching out to Senior Management for updates on the status of Audit Recommendations.
    Management Action Plans:  Ensure adequacy of Management Action Plans by assisting with assessment and validation of evidence provided to support on previously completed internal, external, regulatory, and other audit and investigative reviews. Assist with validation of actions since taken to ensure in keeping with the recommendations made and to highlight areas where actions have not been taken as approved by the BACC. 
    Risk Acceptance - Using the Internal Audit Tracker Database periodically identify and recommend to the Manager audit issues for possible Risk Acceptance.

  5. Learning and Growth - Continuing Professional Development - Ensure responsibility for elevation/capability through continuing professional development training - on the job, internal and external training related to any of the applicable qualifications.
    Access Controls - Ensure all information accessed is handled in accordance with the Information Security (IS) and other related policies.


EDUCATION AND TRAINING
  • A First/Bachelors Degree or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field; and
  • A Professional Certification or Qualification in Internal Auditing, Information Technology, Fraud Compliance FIBA/ACAMS AML/CFT, Finance, Information Technology, or other related certifications.


EXPERIENCE

  • A least five (5) years Internal Audit, Regulatory, Commercial, Consumer and Investment Banking Operations
  • Experience at a Supervisory level within the Internal Auditing related, Compliance (FATCA, Anti-Money Laundering), Commercial and/or Investment Banking Operations, Quality Assurance/Compliance.

 
*An appropriate combination of qualifications & experience will be considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of executive, administrative and standard office practices and procedures with in depth knowledge of and skills in secretarial science, time management, prioritization, organization, and planning.

  • Working knowledge of IT systems and standard MS-office products.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to communicate effectively orally.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
  • Knowledgeable of CBTT, TTSEC Guidelines and related Regulations guiding the operations, license of all TT entities. High attention to detail and accuracy, self-motivated, high performance driven,
